All the grapes of the Vineyard come from the Kaiserstühler locations of Bötzinger Eckberg and Lasenberg, as well as Eichstetter Herrenbuck
Favoured with the warmest climate in Germany and nutrient-rich loess earth, more than a third of the Badische wine grows in the southern hillside-of the Kaiserstuhl.
Aside the Pinot grape varieties, especially the "Pinot Gris" grape, we do also grow Chadornnay, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Riesling and others.
Our first-class Pinot-Spätlesen with more than 99° Öchsle (Degree of sugar content) grow only in great vintage years, in our best locations, through strict yield reduction and selective manual harvesting of the grapes. These, our best wines, are all fully fermented vineyard bottlings. They are matured in small 225-Liter-oak wood barrels (Barrique)
